Betrayal.io is a multiplayer game that you act as a betrayer and sabotage operations while crewmates must complete all of their duties without being killed.
The gameplay mechanics vary widely depending on your stance, but arguing the round's events and attempting to find the evildoer are the most enjoyable. Everyone in the team is assigned a role from the beginning. Regular crew members are expected to do activities on the map that are fashioned after simple mini-games. During this time, the traitor, who looks just like everyone else, may make life difficult for everyone by sabotaging projects and progressively wiping out the rest of the team. Following the round, there is a lengthy discussion in which the players attempt to make sense of what happened. The traitor pretends to be a normal participant in the dialogue. Someone may be removed by vote following the discussion; if the villain survives, the game continues.
